Included in the Irish team from Kerry were Maria McCarthy (Farranfore Maine Valley AC), Niamh O'Sullivan (An Riocht) and Pat O'Shea (Iveragh).
In the Masters Womens race (6Km) our own Maria McCarthy (O35) ran a superb race to finish in 11th place overall. Maria had to produce a sprint finish in order to keep ahead of her British opponent. Maria and her irish team mates received Silver for their efforts. This was Maria's first time representing Ireland in a cross country championships. A great achievement indeed.
Niamh O'Sullivan (An Riocht) was 2nd in her category and their tem also took silver. Well done Niamh
