Emma gets PB in IAAF World Junior Championships

Emma Prendiville finished 31st in the women’s 10,000m walk in a personal best time of 52.41.51. 


There were 36 competitors on the start line for the 25 lap race; the conditions were brutal with temperatures reading 30 degrees in the Olympic stadium.


Well done Emma, to compete with the worlds best junior athletes was a great achievement. You did us proud.


The race was won by Ekaterina Medvedeva of Russia in 45:41.74.
Reigning World Youth Champion Kate Veale (West Waterford AC) finished 18th with a personal best time of 48.50.20.
